UNIT 3 (System-Wide Concepts)

1.       Organizational Elements  a company’s enterprise structure is mapped to SAP applications using organizional elements
2.       Master Data created centrally and available to all applications and all authorized users master data also has an organizatinal aspect because its information is organized into views that are assigned to organizational elements
3.       Transactions are applications program that execute business processes in the SAP system. Example include create sales order, change customer master, or display a sales order’s list report.

5.       Client is highest-level element of all organizational elements ; it respresents the enterprise/headquarters group
6.       Company code is a legal independent accounting unit representing the central  organizational element of financial accounting.
7.       Plant can manufacture product, distribute product, or provide a service it is the central organizational units of prodution.
8.       Storage location material stocks in inventory management can be defferentiated within one plant according to storage location.
9.       Sales organizational is the central organizational element in sales order management that controls the terms of sale to the customer
10.   Distributional chanel can be used to define how different products reach consumers, for example, wholesale.
11.   Organizational Unit describe the various business units that exist in an enterprise. Often units are loosely defined as functional or regional departements.
12.   Position are the individual employee assigments in the enterprise.
13.   IDES is an international company dependent upon collaborations with extenal business partners and a global outlook. IDES AG is a manufacturing company, this company’s processes are using during this training course to demonstrate the solutions provided by SAP. IDES has a large numbers of business branches and branch-apecific subsidiaries the scenario for the IDES id discribed n detail below. IDES employees can access personnel records from an internet portal and make changes to their benefits as well as buy office and assets billable to thwir cost centers.
15.   In SAP master data is created cenrally and avaible to all applications and all authorized user centrally stored  master data means data records are always consitent, up-to-date anf free of redundacy. Master data alson has an organizational aspect because its information is organized into views that are assigned to organizational elements. The tree-part structure of master records makes it possible to flexibly depict the various organizational structures of an operation.
16.   All areas can use the stored data, including sales, purchasing, inventory management, materials planning, invoice verification, finance and human resouces.
17.   A costomers master contains key information that defines the business relationship between a company and its customer. Code data controls the posting procedure and subsequent processing such as payments and dunning. The customer master’s has three-part structure.
18.   A). General data this data equally relevant to every company code and every sale   organization this a company
B). Data for company code this data reflects company-specific agreements with the customer.
C). Data for sales this data has different characteristics for company’s sales organizations and channels.
19.   Masterial master contains all of key information a company needs to manage a material within its organization. The material master defines, among other things, how a product is sold, manufactured, purchased, inventoried, accounted, and costed. The informations in the material master is grouped into views that are organized by business function.
20.   Personnel file are master data records used primarilly mySAP ERP human capital management.  The master  records follow the same basic three part structure as do other master records. The organizational elements used by mySAP HCM are unique and, as a group, they are reffered to as organizational management.
