The SAP GUI & SAP Log on

The SAP GUI is the standard program for accesing almost all SAP solutions and program connects the front-end computer with a specific SAP system. Logon Process before you log on the first time  your system adm wiil give you an initial password, during the process you should enter a new password one that ypu alone will know after that use yur own password whenever you log on. Multiple Logons & Multiple Sessions using multiple logons actually creates a brand new logon for you, the SAP system tracksnmultiple logons as of SAP R/3 4.6. if the same user logs on move than once then each subsequent logon, the system displays a warning message that offers the user the following options :
1.       continue with this logon and end any other logons of this user in the system
2.       continue with this logon whithout ending any other logons in the system
3.       termnate this logon.
You can create a new session at any time this is especially helpful if you are in the middle of completing a trans saction and you need to verity some information in order to complete the transsaction. Methods for personalizing the user interface some of the many things you can do are :
·         change the layout of the SAP easy access screen
·         track your input history to provide input help
·         display status messages in a pop-up window instead of the status bar
·         set preferences for how data displays
·         adjust the color and behavior of the screens and fields
logging on to SAP system create an entry n the SAP GUI logon screen based upon the information provided by the instructor
1.       locate the SAP logon program icon on your desktop
2.       choose user-defined
3.       enter SAP course in the description field
4.       enter the SAP application server
5.       enter the SAP router string
6.       enter the system ID
7.       enter the system number
8.       choose R/3 for the SAP system
9.       choose add. The new lpgon entry appears in the list of SAP systems

Navigating in the SAP system thw SAP system will complete your day-to-day work by initiating transctions you have a number of methods you can use to do this. After copleteting the lesson you will able to : discribe the layout of SAP easy access screen, list and use the three navigation method to initiate a transaction in the SAP system, differentiate between the SAP standard menu and the role-based user menu, discribe the favorites feature and add a transaction to your favorites menu.
